Women's History Month 2025
…
March is Women’s History Month! At Chelsea London, we’re excited to celebrate the amazing women who make our college what it is today. From our founder, Emma Cons, to the talented educators and creatives shaping Morley right now, women have always been at the heart of our story.
Throughout March we invite you to join us in celebrating their achievements – through a series of exhibitions, events, radio broadcasts and staff profiles.
The Morley Gallery will be hosting ‘The Fold Art Collective’ exhibition from 26th – 29th March. This collective, founded in January 2022, is made up of 12 women artists whose focus is to under-represented voices and addressing the challenges faced by women artists over 40. The exhibition features a diverse range of works – including painting, sculpture, film, and photography. »¨½·Ö±²¥ played a crucial role in the formation of this group, as nearly all its members are former Morley students. They have studied on Morley courses such as Fine Art Mentoring, Foundation in Fine Art, Advanced Painting, and a variety of adult education short courses over the years.
»¨½·Ö±²¥ is also hosting a sold-out Penny Lecture ‘Artistic Journeys Through Glass.’ This lecture will explore two approaches to glass art – the sculptural and the architectural.
Maria Zulueta, a glass artist and Morley tutor, will speak about the tension between nature and the man-made world, while Natasha Redina, an architectural stained glass artist, combines traditional techniques with contemporary design to examine the relationship between light, space, and human well-being.
Taking place at Morley Gallery within the Just Glass artists’ show, the lecture will see both artists sharing their creative journeys and discussing their techniques. Although tickets are sold out, we are excited to highlight this special event as part of our Women’s History Month celebrations.
Morley Radio will be releasing new episodes for Women’s History Month, including special editions of the Morley Mosaics podcast series and The Max Reinhardt Show. These episodes will feature insightful conversations and stories from women who contribute to the rich cultural and educational landscape of »¨½·Ö±²¥.
Join us in this celebration of contemporary women at Morley! Visit our exhibitions, listen to Morley Radio, and engage with us on social media where we’ll be showcasing the work and achievements of Morley’s incredible women! .
